Runs machine Babar Azam breaks many records in karachi test


Pakistani captain Babar Azam beat Mohammad Youssouf's 16-year-old record in the first innings of the opening test against New Zealand in Karachi.

Babar Azam currently holds his record for most RBIs in a single year by a Pakistani hitter, with Mohammad he surpassing Yusuf's 2435 total in 2006. 2022.

Half a century also means he holds his record for most 50+ points in a calendar year. This broke Ricky's Ponting's record of 24 in 2005 and was Babar's 25th of his 50-plus results. As in his previous innings in the Boxing Day Test, Babar was often Pakistan's lone fighter, and his runs came when Pakistan's back hit the wall.

The 28-year-old has shown similar consistency in his ODI cricket this year, with him scoring 679 runs in nine matches. In his eight of those games, he scored his 50 or more and led his squad to his third straight win. In the shortest format he scored 735 runs with a healthy average of 31.95 and 123.32 batting.

Pakistan hopes the captain can add to the run in the ongoing tests. If so, he could skip several Legends on the all-time list and make it into the Top 10.
