Pakistan vs New Zealand 2nd ODI: New Zealand beat Pakistan by 79 runs

Pakistan vs New Zealand 2nd ODI New Zealand beat Pakistan by 79 runs

That's what this game is all about. The decider will be played on Friday (January 13th) at the same venue. Please join us. Until next time, goodbye and stay healthy.

Kane Williamson | New Zealand Captain: You can never really know 100% (what to do when you throw). We had Ish and he bowled really well... (why he hit first). We had some challenges in both innings, but I'm glad we were able to win. We had a good partnership, but it felt like we weren't thinking about the 300. There were some good contributions toward the endgame that got us on par in total. I knew it was going to be a tough hunt, and I knew I needed to execute my plan and get something off the surface, so Spinner did just that. Pakistan turned back in the first case and had some help from the weirdos in the second. It's nice to play the decider.

Babar Azam | Captain of Pakistan: The ball didn't start well, but came back well. They were also behind the game as they lost several wickets early on with their racquets. The plan between me and Rizwan was to deepen the game, but losing wickets puts you under pressure. Wickets spin and bounce, spinners are hard to deal with, Salman plays his shots well Did. The way the ball landed was different from the first match, but I am grateful that the New Zealand spinners rolled well. Usually the field here he plays better in the second, but today was an exception.

Devon Conway | Game Players: We certainly aimed for 300 with this partnership. We lost Allen early on, but I and Kane stabilized the ship. Much credit has to be given to Kane. There was pressure, but he calmed me down, taught me how to play, and made sure I didn't throw it away. When playing spins, you have to be proactive so that the spinner knows when he is bowling.

Mitchell Sunter: It was good that the power play gave him two wickets. There were definitely more turns than in the first game, but I don't know why. We looked like 300 and lost a few wickets along the way, but I was pretty happy with the result. I knew I could defend myself.

Highlights: New Zealand has read the terms completely. Williamson could easily go bowling after winning the toss, but went to bat, picked an extra spinner and leveled the series. The total number of spins is - 30-0-114-5. The chase never started as the opener was sent back within the first four overs. Babar and Rizwan teamed up to sew his 50+ stand for the third wicket, but progress was slow. Salman gave the innings some momentum, but it didn't last long. In the end, he was stumped thanks to Latham's cleverness, and Sodi took three more balls to end the game.
