PSL 8 Lahore Qalandars beat Peshawar Zalmi by 40 runs despite putting a big total of 244

Fakhar Zaman and Shaheen Shah Afridi starred as Lahore beat Peshawar Zalmi of  Qalandar in the 15th match of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) underway at Gaddafi Stadium at 40 runs on Sunday.

Lahore chose to bat first and scored a huge goal of 242 runs before Fakar and Abdullah he played Peshawar thanks to Shafiq's exceptional batting performance and Shaheen's five wickets his pull. in 20 overs he limited him to 201 runs.

In response to the large prize money, Peshawar forged a good partnership between Saim  Ayub and Tom His caller Cadmore after losing both their first games.

Shaheen had the best start for Lahore against Peshawar. Skipper Shaheen bowled Mohammad He Harris with a sensational Yorker on his second ball of one over. The left-handed pacemaker finished off Peshawar skipper Babar Azam with a spectacular inswing shot before hitting again in the second over. Babar was forced off after scoring just seven runs.

After Babar left, Saim Ayub and Tom Kohler-Kadmore formed a fine partnership with him making 91 runs in just 44 balls.

But Cadmore was fired after slamming Harris Rauch on 55 carries on just 23 pitches.

The next slugger to fall was Saim, who tried to face Rashid Khan but was caught by Abdullah Shafiq. The left-handed batsman scored an important 51 runs on 34 balls.

Bhanukarajapaksa (24) and Rovman Powell (20) then tied for his 39-run partnership, but the Sri Lankan batsman was sent home by Zaman Khan and Peshawar were pulled down to his 166-5 .

Zaman struck again with the same over when he knocked Powell out of the way with a late delivery.

Shaheen won his third wicket in three overs. He sent Wahab Riaz back to the pavilion for ducks. The left-armer claimed another in his final, knocking down Saad Massoud's wicket with a fiery delivery.

Shaheen dismissed James Niesham (12) to complete a five-wicket move.

For Lahore, Shaheen claimed five wickets while Zaman took one. Harris Rauch and Rashid each secured a scalp.

Earlier, Abdullah and Fakhar starred as Lahore scored a huge 242-run goal against Peshawar. Abdullah and Fakhar formed a massive partnership for 120 runs in the second wicket to help Lahore Qalandars overcome early setbacks and take control over Peshawar.

In his first appearance at PSL 8, Abdullah wreaked havoc as he scored 75 runs in just 41 balls. A right-handed hitter hit as many maximums as his five limit.

However, the 23-year-old was sacked by Wahab, who claimed the second wicket.

However, the attack continued as Sam Billings didn't take long to settle down and began pushing boundaries with Fakhar. Fakhar was exceptional against Peshawar. The left-handed hitter hits limits and maxes at will, and from just 45 balls he scored 96 runs, three limits combined with his max of 10. He overtook Rovman Powell on the 18th.

Wicketkeeper batsman Billings scored his unbeaten 47 runs on just 23 balls. This includes his 5 limits and his 3 highs.

Wahab Riaz gave Peshawar an early breakthrough by knocking out Qalandars opener Tahir Baig. The opening batter hit just five runs off seven pitches.
